I don't know who he is.

He nods and says my name.

I don't remember his.

How long have I been out there.

On my mission and road.

To forget so many details.

And become so numb and cold.

 

I have felt like Kurtz,

In the film Apocalypse Now.

I believed all  wounds would be healed,

Once I had figured out how.

Organizations,

Including the human race,

M.C.P.S, P.P.L, P.A.M.R.A, and the P.R.S.

All are on my long list of things,

I don't recognize any more.

I am living like a gunfighter,

On the outside of the law.

 

I want to give you everything,

All what you crave.

I don't want to be standing,

Blowing smoke over your grave.

My voice given by the maker.

My guitar is just wood & glue.

My music I have imagined,

My lyrics they are true.

I realize I'm the lucky one.

And I am sorry for you.

 

Its a shame the road wynds the hill,

All twisted and curled,

But all of us can be,

Music rulers of the world

 

The business has used me,

Used me good

And I am not proclaiming,

To be a modern day Robin Hood,

No longer am I scared to death,

Hiding in my retreat.

Those who'd kill me for the crown

Are falling at my feet.

Dont waste your time with lawyers

The truth is plain to see

I promise I wont treat you the way you have treat me.

 

The rock is still solid

No matter how far it has been hurled
